Amaretto Sour Drink Recipe

"EASY to drink!" "Hard to put down!"

amaretto sour drink recipe

An amaretto sour drink recipe isn't complicated! This recipe is almost ALWAYS in the top 5 most viewed Italian Drinks on my site. And if you still want amaretto but not this recipe, I have a whole section of just amaretto drink recipes

As for this recipe, there are only three ingredients - which makes it really hard to mess up! I mean, how hard is it to goof up with lemons, sugar and amaretto? Like not at all.

Don't let the cost of a bottle stop you from making this. Once you buy the bottle there are so many other things you can do with it besides drink. I have a side collection of just amaretto recipes. We use this a lot in our Italian Dessert Recipes not just in our drinks.

Thanks for stopping by.

* If you already have your sweet and sour made, what's this gonna take you? tops?

SWEET and SOUR MIX how-to:

* Mix 8 oz of FRESH lemon juice with 2 Tbsp of sugar.

Can I use a bottled sour mix?

You can - but the sour mix is so simple to make! Your own sour mix will be far better than anything you can get in the grocery store.

Can I use lemon juice in a bottle for the *sour*?

ONLY IF YOU HAVE TO! The fresh lemons make the drink!

Why are some amaretto sours slightly cloudy?

They probably shouldn't be cloudy. But, this will happen if a juicer is used and the lemon is juiced whole. The pith causes the cloudiness.

What can be substituted in this amaretto sour recipe?

Nothing! It's pretty basic and this is the traditional recipe. Only sub would be lemon juice in a bottle - IF YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST!

Which brand of amaretto works for amaretto sours?

Being Italian and also a foodie purist, I prefer to stick with an Italian liqueur that is actually made in Italy. I guess too, I'm sentimental. My parents and grandparents always had DiSaronno in the cabinet. So that is what I buy. Doesn't make my amaretto sour drink recipe the best in the history of ever, but I do like to stay true to my heritage.
