Lisa Recipe search by ingredient is so helpful when you have a craving for a certain flavor OR you have something beginning to rot that needs to be used NOW!

I have to thank my friend Alison. She has a killer blog Gimme Some Oven.

Yesterday at lunch we were discussing our sites and how we organize them. And where have I been? Ri-i-i-ing Uh - Hello? Her guests can recipe search by ingredient!

Instead of this page being an "A-B-C..." type listing, I've categorized with the big ingredients in Italian dessert recipes like ricotta cheese recipes and amaretto recipes.

It seems like when we are looking for a recipe we have a certain flavor, or ingredient in mind. And a lot of times I have a hard time on sites because of the way they name their recipe...like "Wild Star Eye Popping Sweet Banger". It may be a great recipe, but I have no idea what ingredients are in there. And if I'm looking for a way to get rid of my plums, I would never think of a name like "Wild Star Eye Popping Sweet Banger" having plums in them. And they may.

So - I categorically broke out my Italian Dessert Recipes. I have over 200 recipes, and this keeps growing every time I cook a goodie. (Which is often, since I eat a little sugar everyday!)

So this is a recipe search by ingredient, for key seasonal ingredients ( like fruit). Or for those impulse purchases of 10 pounds of on-sale lemons that you really have good intentions of using. Or the 5 pounds of ricotta you thought you were going to use for lasagna. Hope this makes your recipe searching easy!

A couple of my favs for this are Cappucino Cookies (lots like choc chips but with a twist)

Anisette Cookies (Always on the top 5)

Rum Balls (Gingersnaps and Rum)
